When our oldest son was 6-years old, we took him to one of the local glass factories that were still making marbles. They let Adam and his cousin watch the whole process gave them a coffee can and told them they could glean whatever marbles they could out of the parking lot. Those two boys filled that coffee can with "marbles" Most of it was blobs of glass and broken marbles, but there were a fair number of marbles that had fallen from the boxes between the factory and the shipping facility. Our boys played with those marbles for years, and the blobs have been in every fish tank we have ever had.
Every year, we have so many bees drown in our pool, that I am trying to make some bee fountains for them to have ready places to obtain water without having to deal with the pool. I tried sponges last year, but they dried out too fast. I am hoping these dishes of marbles will work better. They can be sterilized in the dishwasher, and are not expensive to put together.
This image is just wonderful as is your forethoughts on the safe water landing for the bees. I think the simple things in life are the best. Hope it works, let me know. It sounds like a nice thing for any garden to have.
@sarasotab Thank you! I agree and while I don't mind fishing them out of the pool, I don't find all of them in time.
@30pics4jackiesdiamond I hope to be able to take some when it gets warm enough for the bees to be using the bee fountains.
@gaylewood Thank you so much!
