This is a close-up of the Blunt-Nosed Viper found under my sunbed this morning.
I don't mind snakes particularly. They have a job to do. But I prefer they not do their job where my dogs wander around sniffing, or my gardener and I pick weeds. We have lots of fields they can kill rats in. Go there snakes!
Fabulous! I would love to get some shots of interesting snakes but as Milanie commented, I'd rather see them first from a little distance and approach carefully. :-)
@blueace Thank you! I agree, now I am nervous to have my toes poking under the edge of the sunbed until I've checked it out.
@30pics4jackiesdiamond Thank you! My mama doesn't do snakes at all. I have to do warnings on any posts that involve them so she can move past them.
@cmsch52 Thank you so much! I don't mind them as long as they stay away from my zoo and people. This one was much too close!
@milaniet Thank you very much! I don't mind them as long as they stay away from my zoo and people. This one was much too close!
@gaylewood We have a black rat snake that lives in one of the palm trees in the side garden. It likes to drop to the ground suddenly as people and dogs walk by below. It is quite startling the first time it happens. The young pup is terrified of the tree and gives it a wide berth. I wish I had been able to get a video of that episode of nature humor. It made me giggle for days...which I know was terrible as poor Martios was so traumatized. I have yet to get a photo of the silly snake!
I suppose you are right that being one of God's creatures, they have a purpose. I agree with let them do it elsewhere. It does have a real presence, though. Great capture.
@islambad Thank you very much!

@ashks Thank you very much!
@domenicododaro Thank you so much! Yes, they do have some sharp teeth!
