This is the sunflower head that our parrots are convinced will kill them at the first opportunity. They love the seeds, just not the head itself. So, it is sitting on the picnic table a safe distance from them. Every morning, they each get three seeds as a special treat since sunflower seeds are too high in fat to be a major source of their diet. in a couple of days, I will pick it clean and put them in the freezer. But this morning, I enjoyed the way the light looked hitting the seeds.
@30pics4jackiesdiamond For wild birds, I don't think it is an issue, as they are working so hard to find food. Bur for captive birds, who don't fly as much, the fat is totally unnecessary. Here, the rats would eat them before they would rot! UGGGHHH!!! Thank you!!
