I have always been a doodler. In college, I found that keeping my hands busy doodling enabled me to concentrate more fully on the lecture. It seemed that the part of my brain that wandered during a lecture was focused on the paper which allowed the thinking/understanding brain to grasp the material more completely.
I have a collection of doodles that I finally decided to "colorize" in Photoshop. It was a lot of fun to do.
