My get pushed partner, Jacqui Jay, @irisr noticed that I am a 'recording' type photographer, reacting to my surroundings. (so true) So, she challenged me to be pro-active and to bring some cut flowers into my home, set up a table near a window with the light falling sideways onto the flowers. Build a still life with a few more objects that are sympathetic to the flowers and take a photograph by natural light with as wide open an aperture as I can manage.
This is my first of many attempts.
@irisr
Here's my first attempt, Jacqui Jay. It's not what I originally started out with, which was the lilacs on a book, then in front of a book, and then this, which I am happy with.
This is beautiful, Wendy, and not at all what I expected.
I love the rich, warm tones and the timelessness of it.
It could easily be a painting from a century gone by.
Thank you ... this has given me a great start to my day.

Thank you for the wander and your comment.
Hope you are having a good day.
