Get Pushed 347

My Get Pushed challenge this week was from Shanne - Trash to Treasure. This shot is part of the material of a floor length kaftan I recently purchased for £3 from a charity shop. I fell in love with it the minute I saw it as it screamed "Sixties, flower power, buy me!" I then proceeded to have a lovely chat with the lady in the shop who was probably a similar age to me, about Janis Joplin, Leonard Cohen, and Cream (the group, not an accompaniment to strawberries). We reminisced about being a teenager then and she told me a story of how she told her parents she was staying the night with a girlfriend but climbed instead on the back of a motorbike and went to a rock concert at Stonehenge on the other side of the country! That must have been some concert amongst those stones ...

What I love about this dress is that when I waft around doing the housework in it I remember how I used to feel as a youngster - the whole world in front of me and the feeling I was invincible and could do anything.
that's a very cool fabric (it's the sort of thing I'd buy to remake as something else)

@shannejw Hi Shanne, hope you like my response to your challenge as you're a 'material' girl! I will do my best to complete your last challenge this week too:)

Beautiful patterns and a lovely story. The material reminds me of aboriginal art.

I can tell my age. I immediately guessed you were referring to the group "Cream" from the discussion of Janis Joplin and Leonard Cohen. I can understand how you might feel in the kaftan and can imagine you turning up the stereo and feeling like you had never aged a day. I like riding in the car and turning up the stereo on an oldies station and I don't have anything that reminds me of my age; no aches and pains, no reminders of electronics or things I have to do. I just sing along at the top of my voice and enjoy myself for a bit.
