Junko suggested I crop the above into a square format to focus on the shadows - and it looks much less 'messy' - no need to comment, this was taken only a few days ago.

I love this one , -( I just had a look back at the other ) A much better composition with the light subject to one side leading you onto the dark shadow . I could hang a print of this on my wall ! fav

Nice. I think the cropping worked beautifully. The light and shadow in this photo is really special. Cropping just took away the extra stuff.

Thanks for trying it out -- I liked the other one very much, but I do like this one for how it makes my eye focus on the shadow. Funny disclosure: I'm blind in my left eye. So for me, the left side barely exists in any case!
