Queen Victoria Statue by fishers

Queen Victoria Statue

In Dalton Square in Lancaster stands this rather magnificent monument to Queen Victoria, built in 1906 and was a gift from Lord Ashton. He was one of the world's richest men at the time as he was in the linoleum trade. The four panels round the bottom show other important Victorians, including Lord Ashton's father, James Williamson.

As you can see, the sky was a little foreboding but it was nice to get out and about. The oral exams are over now, thank you for all your well wishes, they went pretty well. - Lucy

An imposing statue of this formidable woman! Glad the exams are going well. As for me, I'm buried under dissertations to be marked!

@dolphin So you're on the other side to me! At least, for the most part, people seem to enjoy doing dissertations, I hope they're as interesting for the tutors! Thanks for your comment Molly - Lucy

@tonydebont Thank you Tony. I thought it wouldn't be a very inspiring picture with the sky being so grey at the time, but this is certainly growing on me! - Lucy
