The Buckinghamshire Clock by fishers

The Buckinghamshire Clock

From the grand surroundings of Windsor Castle shown in yesterdays shot. we move to the Buckinghamshire County Museum in Aylesbury.

I've never been to Aylesbury before, and I thoroughly enjoyed exploring the town centre, with it's attractive old buildings mixed with more modern ones, and the lovely quiet square around the church.

Nearby is the county museum, with a wide range of fascinating items. The clock shown here realy caught my eye, since it seems to summarise the area and it's history and activities so well.

The plaque beside it reads:

'The Buckinghamshire Clock, designed and made by Jeremy Turner, was commissioned by the Vale of Aylesbury Decorative Fine Arts Society (NADFS) with a grant from Southern Arts. It was presented to the Buckinghamshire County Museum to mark the new Millennium on the 13th day of June 2000'.
