Parc André Citroen, Paris by fishers

Parc André Citroen, Paris

On the site of a former Citroen car manufacturing plant in the 15th arrondissement, you can now find a large public park.

It was opened in 1992 (the car factory having been closed in the 1970s), and it's built around this central lawn. You can pay to go up in the hot air balloon, which is a permanent fixture in the park.

Incidentally, the French word for 'hot air balloon' is 'montgolfière' - named after the Montgolfier brothers who designed the original balloon in 1782.

A beautiful view on, and a great capture of, this very nice park. As I know Paris only from the pic.`s my Dad made on his trips to P. ( he did a lot) this is very unusual part of it to me

@dolphin Yes it's a bit boring this bit. The rest is a lot nicer, with benches set back from the paths and places for kids to run wild! - Lucy
