Grasshopper by fishers

Grasshopper

While visiting Louise, she had another unexpected visitor - this grasshopper had made it's way into her lounge and was perched on the window looking for the way back out.

After catching it in a glass, Louise took it outside, closely followed by her children. After placing the glass on a path and removing the cover, the grasshopper proceeded to leap out onto the path. The children followed, and saw a second massive leap by the grasshopper into the grass. They were most impressed!

I was quite pleased with the detail in this shot, and I liked the ghostly second grasshopper reflected in the grass.

I've no idea what species of grasshopper this is, but for anyone interested in learning more about grasshoppers, see http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Grasshopper

Thank you Cindy - I tend to be wary of creepy crawlers too, but this chap was settled and just basking in the sun, so I felt OK getting in close!
