Leeds Council Chelsea Flower Show Entry 2009

In 2009, Leeds City Council's show garden at Chelsea highlighted some of the issues surrounding climate change.

The garden drew on a number of different techniques which collectively help to address the problem of flooding. The use of locally-sourced Yorkshire stone combined with plants that flourish in wet conditions all helped to illustrate the management of rainwater rather than discharging directly into surface water drains.

The garden was produced in conjunction with HESCO Bastion Ltd, a company renowned worldwide for civil engineering and military protection and who have been based in Leeds since 1990.

Thank you all for your kind comments and favs, they are very much appreciated.

These gardens call for another visit in 2 or 3 months when the plants have grown and the flowers are more in bloom. I'll have to set a reminder for myself!
