Well, here is my take on the Little Herd, which are smaller elephant statues decorated by local schools, and I have to say I was very impressed by the high standards that the schools have set. In contrast to the full size elephants, which are found in the open air in many parts of the city, the Little Herd is in groups in various indoor locations.
The four elephants in the main shot here were in the entrance to the Crucible Theatre, while the other four smaller shots were taken in the Winter Gardens.
If you are in Sheffield, It's well worth getting a map and setting off to see these lovely pieces of art, and at the same time discover more about the city. It was surprising how many people were looking for the elephants. It has obviously become a popular school holiday activity. In the limited time we had available, Katharine and I saw around 25 of the 58 large elephants and 20 of the 72 small elephants, so there is much more for us to discover on a future visit.
Thank you all for your comments and favs, they are most encouraging!
I really like these elephants and hopefully I will get a chance to take more photos of them before they are removed in a couple of months.

The large elephants will be auctioned in October, not sure about the little ones.
