Triceratops by fishers

Triceratops

Something a little bigger today. Several shopping areas in central Leeds have life size animatronic dinosaurs. Here in the Merrion Centre is a Triceratops.

The triceratops weighed around 8 tonnes, grew to around 9 metres long and 3 metres tall. It was around twice the size and weight of a modern rhino. The triceratops had one of the largest skulls of any land animal that has ever lived. It was a plant eater with a beak to grasp and snap off vegetation.

Sorry for our absence over the last few days, we have been travelling and kept very busy each day. We will try and catch you up with our adventures over the next few days.

Wow! That is pretty frightening. I'll be kids don't want to get too close. Am I seeing eggs?. It would be hard to believe something like that used to lay eggs. Maybe I'm looking at melons. Fav

Thank you all for your lovely comments and favs, they are very much appreciated.

I'm quite sure I wouldn't want to meet any of these dinosaurs if they were real, either at night or in broad daylight!

This Triceratops does indeed have eggs below it - several of the other dinosaurs had eggs as well. They look a great size for omlette making!
