First of all an apology for not posting for the last few days, but life got rather exciting last Tuesday when my wife, Katharine was taken into a Sheffield hospital (NOT in the Air Ambulance!) with severe pain. She was discharged yesterday morning and her brother drove her back to York. Later in the day she was again in severe pain and I called her an ambulance so she is now in York hospital. The next few days will be rather hectic, so I'm not sure when we will be able to resume regular posting again.
This shot was taken at Sheffield Northern General hospital on Thursday as I was leaving after visiting Katharine. It was an impressive site watching the helicopter swoop in and land on the roof of one of the hospital buildings.
What a coincident, I just looked at a picture of an ambulance helicopter on one of our cruises where a man was airlifted in a basket from deck ship up into the hovering helicopter.
So sorry to read about your wife, hopefully the doctors find the problem and she'll get home and feeling better soon.
Thank you all for your lovely comments, and particularly for those of you who sent good wishes to my wife Katharine, who has spent the last two weeks in hospital, first in Sheffield and then in York. She returned home yesterday afternoon and is now making a good recovery from the pneumonia and spleen damage that she suffered.
@casablanca Thank you very much. It is amazing how much progress she has made over the last three days. Of course she will need to take it easy for a while. The biggest risk she faces now is having to cope with my cooking!
Do hope Katherine is soon feeling much better and back home.
