Curiosity got the better of me so I had a trip into York city centre to see how the tourist season was progressing as the Covid-10 restrictions are relaxed, so here we are, in Exhibition Square, looking at one of the well known York views.
The towers of York Minster stand above everything. They are a useful landmark for exploring the city centre.
Bootham Bar can be seen to the left, the medieval gate controlling the entrance to the old city. Victorian restoration placed a staircase onto the wall walk outside the ancient city, just visible above the front of the tour bus.
Aboe the tour bus are the varied rooftops of the buildings in High Petergate.
The open top tour buses are again running frequently, although so far there are not very many people using them.
The seating area is being well used, and it makes a useful addition to the square.
Great photo. The rooftops are certainly different from ours and interesting. When we visited England several years ago, I was taken with the chimneys--so different and lots of them.
Fortunately this was taken the day before it was posted, a much drier day! On Wednesday I was stranded at home waiting for a Tesco delivery and a parcel delivery.
It looks like things are slowly returning to semi normal
Hope this is the signs of things to come
Thank you all for your lovely comments and favs, they are very much appreciated.
It is interesting to see the city centre come back to life, although I'm still very careful to avoid busy places.

Thank you Vesna. I will try and get photos of the sculptures when the weather improves.
