The shop in York that always has interesting window displays is the Käthe Wohlfahrt shop in Stonegate. I featured a window display just before Christmas, with a brief history of the shop - http://365project.org/fishers/365/2022-12-23
Today I'm posting this display about St Lucia, which we spotted last weekend during our tour of Residents Festival locations.
St Lucia is remembered for carrying food to Christians hidden in the Catacombs in Rome during the time of persecutions at the hands of Emperor Diocletian. To enable her to carry more food she wore a crown of candles. Eventually she was captured by the Romans and executed in 304AD.
Have been on several Swedish events of St Lucia. Big day

Thank you all for your lovely comments and favs, they are very much appreciated.
It's always worth a look in the window of Käthe Wohlfahrt, they have some wonderful displays.

Thank you Vesna, and thank you for the history. I find the Romans quite fascinating. There are some interesting remains in different parts of England.
