Heat Stroke by glimpses

Heat Stroke

Yesterday was the hottest day in Connecticut, EVER (according to the national weather service in 125 years of record keeping.) When I took this picture of my Cukes, it was 135.4 degrees in the sun!! (105 in the shade.) It was blistering, searing, destructive heat. BUT, everything in my Garden revived, including these Cukes. Phew!! Also, I did edit this photo, draining most of the color out of it to make it look more dramatic (135.4 wasn't dramatic enough! :p)
Wow! That's hot by any standard; and so far North. Great capture. Looks like you need water also.

@mwarren365 Hiya, Mike - Thanks for checking in. The heat and humidity here has been insane!! OMG! Miami was only 82 degrees yesterday! More of the same for a few more days - BLEH! And yes, everything got a nice gulp of Miracle Gro with a deep watering. ( Also, I shall ammend my comment, since I editied the photo, taking away most of the color; everything actually was green.) Happy weekend, Les

@netkonnexion Greetings Damon from the U.S. of A - in which more than half the country has been under extreme heat advisories for over a week; just off the charts..... I am THRILLED to hear from someone new! I took a quick gander through your "365" and it a was a veritable feast for the eyes; incredible variety, creativeity, color, interest, history, excellent collection. And it's always awesome to see pictures from another part of the world. Soooo, I'll be keeping up with your work as best I can, and looking forward to what comes next. (p.s. You'll notice from comments I've already left you, that I'm a "jet junkie." :p) Be well, Les

@maggie2 Mornin' Maggie - So you're roasting too, eh? I didn't say in my above comment what I really wanted to say, (because it may have been a little offensive) an old Southern expression a friend used to use; "Hotter than the hinges of hell!." That about sums it up, Les
