Here is Rocky, the retired racehorse once again. I was astonished at all I could see in the reflection of his gentle, wise eye. (Look closely enough, and you'll even see the farmhouse.) And then I wondered what else he's seen, maybe on the racetrack. Were there other horses in front of him, sweaty and straining as he hurtled towards the finish line? Or was he alone, seeing only straight ahead, an empty, chewed up track in front of him? I just wonder.....
(Note: Another SOOC, but I did add a vignette before the frame)
Greetings! I'm from Connecticut (USA) Photography is one of my lifelong passions (others including gardening, woodworking, history, and being a part...
@princesicita Thanks for continuing to check in on my project and leave me such great comments. This is a special picture to me because Rocky has become so special to me (I keep returning to visit him.) He truly is a gentle old boy with the wisdom of the ages in his eyes. Thank you so very much for the Fave; I'll be sure to tell him next time I see him. BIG :-) Be very well, Les
@nicolecampbell Thanks so much Nicole. I couldn't believe all that was reflected in Rock's single eye. Always appreciate hearing from you.
Take care, Les
@msartsy Greetings from Connecticut, USA . Thank you so much for taking the the time to look and comment. A new face is always exciting! I've taken a look through your "365" and was impressed, and look forward to future postings. Glad you found "365"; you will absolutely love it; such a welcoming, supportive, creative, and talented community . Welcome! Be well, Les
@maggie2 Much appreciated Maggie - He is a dear boy, and I could photograph him all the day long. He and the other horses have very distinct personalities; his is the most mellow and serene. (Sometimes he corners me up against the barn for a "cheek rub." I don't have much choice; remember, he is so huge that I have to reach UP to pat his face, so there's no getting away if his mind is made up. But it shows great trust from an animal I barely know, and that means a lot to me.)
Hope you are enjoying your weekend, Les x
@glb484 Hi Gina, and thanks so much for taking the time to stop by and leave me such a great comment. It's always exciting to hear from someone new! And I must confess, I think this is a pretty unique shot. Hope that you are having a good weekend, Les
@aspada Well Hello Amy! Wow, great to hear from you; much appreciated. And yes, I believe his is a gentle soul. He is not curious, impatient, or shy; he's seen it all. He prefers his own company, spending little time with the other horses. He is in his own little world, and I am so very grateful that (for whatever reason) he chose to let me in. He his a very special old boy :-) xo xo Be well, Les
