I hesitate to put this photo up as it's not really some thing folk want to necessarily see !!! As the theme is feet this week & I am short of time i couldn't resist !!
I am having my feet done here by Cathy our daughter who is in her final year of a Podiatry degree at Salford University.!
She is a medical secretary working three days a week but always wanted to be a Podiatrist but took the wrong exams at school. She went to night school & took GCSE Chemistry & then A level & has been doing this degree course for three & half years with one more to go ! This is besides keeping her proper job , looking after two children, husband & house . She has to go to Manchester twice a week & is on placement at the moment in Lancaster.
She loves it & is very particular, my feet have never felt so good !!
We are very proud of her & look forward to the day when she graduates !!!
That is my bragging over for this week !!!
Well, isn't she just a lazy gal!!!) Wow! Make me exhausted just reading it - good on her and I hope she ends up doing exactly what she wants. Love the focus on her hands.
@giselle Thanks Giselle ,she would normally wear gloves but seeing that it was me in our kitchen she didn't bother !! A bit off putting showing me having my nails cut but never mind !!
my granny always used to have to visit a podiatrist - so great to have one in the family! your feet are so important - it's good to lok after them well!
I love to read those feel good stories Pat - I'm glad that your feet feel good, but the best news is the story about your daughter. I love it when the kids achieve their dreams. Congratulations to your gorgeous girl.
@murnane We are very proud & it is good when your kids buckle down & get on with whatever dream they have . Thanks for your lovely remarks Marg !! I wasn't going to put more than one photo up at once even though I have gone ACE but find I can't resist now & again !! I am supposed to be changing beds for next lot of guests but keep coming back to this !!!
nothing wrong with bragging about your family Pat .......It's obvious you are very proud of her.....and quite rightly too......as for the photo ...i'll quickly click the 'home' button :)
Almost did a double-take when I saw this photo on 365 tonight!! Thanks everyone for your lovely comments. It's been a long slog but totally worth it. My family have been very patience as I don't always cope well with the pressure!!!
Your daughter sounds extraordinary! Good for her for filling her days and developing such a worthwhile carreer! And after all the years you spent raising her, how nice to get a little pampering from her today! (I see that's @mrsfeet responding to you right there above my comment!)
Great shot and brilliant for the theme. I wish she could have a got at mine my nails are really horrid I think I must have infections in them some grow like sausages and are hideous to try and trim. I have got some stuff to put on them to see if this will help. They were lovely until I started long distance running and they have never been right since. Sorry I hope that is not too much detail LOL!
Hi Frances, mum asked me to feedback to you! Its quite common for runners to have thickened nails because of the repeated trauma they suffer when running. Alternatively it could be a fungal infection which would make them crumbly, thickened and discoloured. Fungal infections tend to start in big toenails. If its not fungal nail (you can have a sample taken by your GP to confirm) it is the running and all you can do is keep them as short as possible and file them down to reduce the depth. A podiatrist would use a special burr to reduce them down, it also makes them easier to trim. Hope this helps!!! :) best wishes, Cathy
