I had to show the lovely blue sky from yesterday again. Today is cloudy with an odd shower or two & I am busy on change over for B&B so not much time to take photos.
Yesterday I went into Garstang High street & noticed how the chimneys were all different & thought they looked nice against the blue sky. I wished I could have got more of the whole row of buildings but I think I would have had to stand in the middle of the road to do that !! You can see from some of the shop fronts that there is a couple of banks, a card shop, health food shop & gift shop among this little line .
What a sky! Garstang has that lovely stone - so nice after Preston's red brick (which you get used to and I really disliked Cambridge's yellow bricks when I moved here but it's a bit of a shock when you go back!)
@judithg Our old farmhouse before we moved here 13 years ago was hand made brick & I hated it & wanted stone !! We went to Warwickshire to the Royal Show & I fell in love with all the lovely mellow brick houses & then I liked mine much better !! This house is unknown underneath a white exterior !!
You've inspired me to look upwards in the village here ... I've never noticed the chimneys and roofline before. I'll have to wait for a blue sky day first though!
very interesting skyline with the various chimneys.
