Blackpool at night.

Outside the Opera House last night where we went to see Alfie Boe. We really enjoyed the concert although Alfie does sing rather melancholy songs for my taste. Jason Mansford was on singing with him, taking the place of Matt Lucas & there was a soprano called Laura Wright who had the most wonderful voice !
The best bit really & what made the show was that it was his home crowd who gave him the most enormous welcome, from the boss at the Opera House who sacked him & is still the boss to all his very large family who were very noisy !

Blackpool looked it's best last night, all lit up & the place was buzzing !!
On after the show to the other important venue ..the Tower Ballroom.

I didn't have Jason Masford down as a singer! Sounds like a fun night and it's great at Christmas when towns are buzzing after dark. I'm quite sad that the kids have grown out of pantos though they've never been the same since Christopher Biggins moved on.

@judithg Surprisingly Jason Munsford had a great voice !!! He did the fun bit but we were impressed by his singing !!

the lighting and exposure is spot on here Pat.....I hope Alfie did a few Les Mis songs....after all he did play Jean Valjean.....Les Mis is one of our fave musicals :) ......Alfie was in Nottingham last night , but Sunday night's are bad nights out when it's an early Monday morning get up for work !

@phil_howcroft Yes he did do a couple of songs from Les Mis , I have never seen that musical but of course know the main songs from it . He seems to be doing a show a night up to Christmas & then his son will be born on New Years Day !!
