This is an old brass bed we found in the attic years ago. We had it restored as the brass work was old & tarnished & at the same time we had to have it lengthened by inserting pieces of iron in the frame work.
Years ago people were much smaller & shorter & that's why all or most of the doors in this house are wide & low & anybody staying here who is taller than six foot has to duck....we have had many a bumped head in this house !!!!
I am quite pleased with myself as this is taken on a manual setting !!
Lovely photo - the light is beautiful....well done to you!
I think Allan and I have slept here a few times!!
The length is certainly not a problem for me and we always have a restful sleep and your lovely breakfasts!!
Beautiful, it is so nice to see things that have been redundant for too many years put to good use once again. How cosy this picture. I'm going for my PJ's right now.
Yay . . manual! Way to go, Pat. Yes, the beds were made smaller years ago. We bought a four-poster bed while in England and it too had to be lengthened. Great piece of furniture. This room looks perfect with this lighting.
How come we only found an old boiler in our loft?! What treasure and it looks like they did a great job with the restoration. I wouldn't be bumping my head even with heels on Pat! Great job with the manual settings. When are you off to NZ - I've the the 15th in my head....
