It seems like a long time ago now but in reality time has flown by since Harry & I got married.
Fifty years ago today & when I think now compared to young people today we hardly knew each other.
We had no great expectations of material things for the house, just a roof over our heads & to eventually save up for the extras in life like a sofa!
Three children & five grandchildren later life is good, we have our health, a bit of wealth & lots of happiness.
Happy, Happy Anniversary!
Sounds like you have it all.
There is a song, artist escapes me, I Thought I Loved You Then.
I think of that in relation to Tom and I often. We didn't have much of anything but love and huge commitment to one another that has grown exponentially. And we are happy - and I love and am still in love with this man that makes me laugh. We are both blessed, Pat.
Congratulations Pat, you look so young that in order to be celebrating this landmark anniversary, you probably got married when you were 10 or 12. Enjoy it with Harry, and best wishes for many more.
@cdonohoue You are so right Cathy & I know we are so lucky but the old cliche to give & take & to put the other persons welfare first still works....commitment!!!!! So glad it works for you!
Congratulations Pat a wonderful achievement, you are so right in what you said I think we value what we have because we worked hard for it therefore appreciating things all the more.
Happy Anniversary! So lovely to celebrate and I'm sure every year has had its share of joys and challenges! Wishing you both many more happy times!
