This is for @bpaquette who wanted to see a panoramic view of my kitchen.
This is the end you have seen before & is where we sit during the day & in the summer.
As you can see we still have our cards & flowers up from our recent celebrations.
The other end is in my extras album.
Three good things:
1. Peeling the potatoes tonight I noticed a little swarm of midges hovering outside the kitchen window & a little bit of sun out, is the weather bucking up?
2. My next door neighbour Annie is having some new radicle treatment this afternoon on her heel problem which she has had for 12 months....do hope it works!!!
3. I am about to start a new book on my Kindle, was so sick of the one I have just read but felt I should plough on to the end.
Oh your dresser looks as crowded as mine!! h aha love it, its what my daughters call home, nothing minimalistic at all!! Is that the new painting above the television? Gorgeous proper kitchen no nasty quartz worktops!! What did you just read on your kindle? I have only ever given up on one book..by John Fowles, Daniel Martin, adored THe Magus and then huge disappointment!!
That is my kind of room. Surrounds you with a good hug.
I give up on books now if they don't catch my attention. Not enough time and too many good ones floating out there. I love to read at night in the dark on my iPad. My husband is sounds asleep and I don't sleep well anymore. I will wake in the morning with it tucked under my pillow.
@fannyb No Fanny the new painting is just to the right of the Aga next to the new chair, the light is bouncing off it. My dresser has far too much stuff on it & especially crowded now as all the cards are on there too. My last book I read was The White Pearl by Kate Furnival. Was quite interesting at the start , all about a family with a rubber plantation in Malaya & the Japanese invasion all through the wife's eyes...got rather tedious in the end all running through overgrown plantations etc etc! Was glad to finish it last night!
I am going to try a sample of England's Lane next by Joseph Connolly recommended in the Daily Mail. Costs £10.44 on Kindle as new out so have to try it first!!! Big advantage to be able to try it first, I will report back!
@fannyb Yes he is the one to crack but will have to wait as it's postmen next week. Couldn't understand the idea at first but apparently there are four lots of workers all vying t win this competition!
@cdonohoue Same here Cathy, my Kindle with the light on at night is my saviour if I can't sleep. Only trouble is if we have the window open which we do, all the midges come in attracted to the light & then I get bitten!
You are so lucky to have a big eat -in kitchen like this. I love it! I know what you mean about ploughing through a book until the end. I belong to a book group and always feel obliged to finish it even if I'm not enjoying it!
@busylady I have always wanted a big kitchen & it certainly seems to be the trend now. \when we move again that is definitely a priority Judith. Thank you for your lovely comments.
@seanoneill Englands Lane by Joseph Connolly recommended by the Daily Mail. I got a sample on my Kindle but have ordered it as the book seems quite a good one specially to my age group growing up in the fifties...might not suit anyone younger but am giving it a go. Thanks Sean.
Oh Pat , thank you so much!! I live in my kitchen (will post tomorrow) and it's so nice to see others' kitchens where they live and breathe and work and play and gather. This is even better than I had imagined and I have fav'd it so I can come and visit any time!!! Without the airfare!. How very kind of you to do this for me!
@happypat The most important thing about a kitchen is having space for others to sit and chat. Nothing like the long ago days of kitchens hidden behind a little wall or whatever :)
@kwiksilver How I agree with that Gillian. If ever we have anyone for a meal we never seem to move out of here although there is a sitting room to the right of this room, door next to the radiator.
I know exactly what you mean, Pat. I've given up asking friends if they want to move to more comfortable seats in lounge ... no, they'd rather be in the heart of things :)
such a cozy kitchen! a wonderful place to cuddle up to your Kindle. I know how you feel about finishing a book...even if it a lousy book , something makes me feel like I have to finish what I started before I move on.
