Five & a half miles along the river bank & through St Michaels village was the route of our cold muddy walk today..not the nicest walk I have been on by any means but was good exercise & we all had a good chat.
We stopped for our sandwiches in the car boot field sitting on these big stones...I did notice the others had padded squares to sit on whereas I had to sit on my piece of foil I had wrapped my lunch in!!
Three quarters way round my boots were rubbing & my hands cold so was glad to get home!
Seven of us today so the numbers are keeping up despite the weather.
Three good things:
1. My knees held up really well on their first big test!
2. Cyclone Sandra put some rain down on my drought suffering families in NZ, they are struggling for enough grass to feed their animals so a little rain was very welcome.
3. Out with friends tonight ( sorry will be unable to comment but will look when I get home!)
Lovely framing. Isn't photography on this site about learning? Learning to always bring something to sit on when walking cross country! ( Hope your not offended by my humour Pat)
@happypat padded seat is a good idea. I have one ,fits into a small daypack and is self inflating when your turn a little knob . so its quite comfy ( I hope you know what I mean , can't describe this any better in a foreign tongue)
@khirsch I think you do amazingly well when English is not you first language...I did wonder if you were actually an English lady married to a German guy but obviously not!
Cold stones are as cold in winter as anything could be but better than sitting on the wet ground. Every day is different with walks, glad about the knees, five miles is huge in my estimate!
I have a coat that has a removable seat pad in it called a Falklands coat. It is also invisible to night vision goggles apparently. Like your photo the way you have used the excavator as a frame.
and happy to hear about the rain in NZ.....enjoy supper!
