House number 1. by happypat

House number 1.

I have not been able to get into my main computer tonight...the usual problem sometimes it won't co-operate at all, might feel different tomorrow!!!
My Lancaster pictures are all down loaded on that one & have deleted them off my camera so I had no photo to use tonight.
Had the idea the other night that I could do a series on the eleven houses down our lane so just nipped out & taken this the first one as you turn into our lane off the main road. Every one is very different!
This is where the new baby lives with her Dad, Mum & brother & sister.
My friends father used to farm here up to about 15 years ago.

Three good things:
1. I had forgotten how wonderfully quick an unclogged computer is!!!!
2. A lazy day at home.
3. M&S meringues with raspberries.
Oh, I love this, Pat. Makes me want to sneak inside and take a peek! Eager to see the rest of your lane.

@barbsmith Oh thanks Barb, thought it might be a little boring but needs must tonight!!!

What a splendid idea Pat, to show all the houses down your lane. This one is rather pleasant. Like the b&w. Looking forward to the others

@khirsch Thanks Karin, this one is painted b/w so thought I would stick to that colour for this!!

A lovely country cottage love it in B&W You are not the only one having computer trouble - my old one which I love & understand has just come back from repairs & needs to go back !! now slower than usual + messages coming up which I don't understand !! My new windows 8 I have not come to grips with & has some gremlins to be seen too !! working = good , not working =b.a.d. !!

@beryl Isn't it a pain Beryl, some times it takes me an hour to get a photo ready to post....I did delete some files but doesn't seem to make any difference, I think I will have to invest in a portable hard drive. My computer must be over fifteen years old so can't expect too much! Windows 8 sounds a nightmare!!

Lovely building. Good capture

@chris17 Thanks Christine!
@gerry Portable hard drives are quite expensive & I need a new P&S so will snuggle on for the time being....I think the camera might come first!!!
April 14th, 2013
@gerry He he Gerry I mean struggle of course!!

@happypat beautiful photo Pat sorry to have read that yourself and Beryl are having computer problems my old Vista advent is so basic plus now the Screen often freezes i dont use it so much now but i purley keep it as it has a hard drive and my new packard bell notebook does not have one like you Pat i will have to invest in a portable hard drive .

If all you guys had Apples, you wouldn't have this problem! @gerry @beryl . I love the way these houses open up right on to the street! It is so European but then, I would miss the garden path up to the door!

Beautiful shot of a lovely house. I love looking inside, so next time perhaps with a light on and curtains open? Hehehe!!! My hubby works with computers, won't touch Apple (I rebelled and got an iPad) but says portable hard drives are great.
April 14th, 2013
@maggiemae Yes you are probably right maggiemae about an Apple but remember @judithg having a bit of a time adjusting to hers & am not sure whether i want to spend that amount of money!! This house has a very large garden & pond with bridge over in the back garden.
April 14th, 2013
@maggiemae That is the road going right past the door, the front door opens right onto the road.
April 14th, 2013
@jesperani Yes Jennifer I could do a whole series on looking inside....I wonder how that would go down?
April 14th, 2013
@gerry My old faithful is a vesta which has just come back from the menders !! & in worse state -so return trip tomorrow I think !!
April 14th, 2013
m&S meringues with raspberries - yummy....wuite fancy that now before bed! Nice looking farmhouse

the monochrome treatment gives it a timeless feel Pat, you could also go sepia quite nicely too
April 14th, 2013
Love your three good things. My computer is in desperate need of unclogging
April 14th, 2013
Great idea to photograph all the houses in your lane. This is a beauty to start your theme.
April 15th, 2013
@kwiksilver Thanks Gillian! I am up late watching the golf!
April 15th, 2013
Great Idea! This is a beautiful house in its own way, not architecturally challenging, but it oozes solid reliability and 'no pretences'.
April 15th, 2013
@ellida Yes it's very solid & true to its foundations Graham, the garden is lovely round the back too. Just watched Adam Scott from Australia win the Masters that's why I'm up late!!!!
April 15th, 2013
Ooo I absolutely adore your project idea!!!! I am out riding my bike more and find myself looking at the houses and not minding the potholes! Do take us on a tour of your lane!!!!
April 15th, 2013
The house has a lot of charm to it.

Great idea. I am desperately in need of an unclogged computer. Ours is creaking horribly at the moment - it visibly winces every time I upload anything new.

April 15th, 2013
A beautiful house. I'm with Barb Smith and would also like to sneak in. Like the b and w.

A very appealing proper house.

April 16th, 2013
Wonderful idea and a great looking home!
April 17th, 2013
Fabulous and I love the idea......I wonder if I can adapt it for school ...
have to watch that the children have friendly neighbours.
So lovely to have variety around. The new developments here are all the same! Little boxes with no storage space at all!!!
April 17th, 2013
I love your idea of photographing the houses on your lane! This one is absolutely charming! I love the windows.
April 17th, 2013
Love the B&W. Do not know what M&S meringues are, but if they come with raspberries, count me in.
