I was in London one day last week but haven't been able to post any photos because I was in the middle of the house series.
Kneelers in St Clement Danes Church...loved the colourful tapestry & the way they were all hanging in a row.
Three good things:
1. My B&B man fixed my computer last night!
2. Lydia has been to a Speech & Language Therapy taster session near by so after I had picked her up at lunchtime she has spent the whole afternoon studying in our kitchen...it was lovely to have her.
3. Reading in the afternoon...bliss!!

Thank you all, I will show a photo of the inside of this church tomorrow I think....my favourite church in London I think.
@beryl Last time I was in this church these kneelers were there then Beryl , not sure how many services they have in Clement Danes but would think they are not used too often & people would have their best bib & tucker on!
@anazad511 They are very well made Ana ...this is a very wekl known London church & is the church featured in the nursery rhyme Oranges & Lemons if you have heard of that/
Those are pretty - all co-ordinated. Lydia won't be out of work doing speech and language therapy - we have a lot of children coming into school who need it - what with global delay and autistic spectrum disorders (and our deaf kids of course)....
@jimmyveee Well a slightly lower level but not too low as not as easy bending so low unfortunately James!!! Would have liked to have got more in line!!
@happypat Odd - but a good thing for getting on a course hopefully! I think language development is fascinating - I've been educated a bit by our teachers of the deaf when I've been helping them do interviews and when you actually start to break down what we do naturally it's really hard. The book I've been reading makes excellent points about sign being a language as well and it's vital for young children to learn some sort of language or they effectively get brain damage. The speech and language people obviously help with the physical side and muscle development. If Lydia would ever like to do a bit of work experience with our deaf unit I can ask them (the teacher I know really well is on maternity leave but the cover lady is very nice too).
@judithg Well that is so kind of you Judith & I will certainly tell her that. She said it was very interesting the statistics among children who couldn't or wouldn't communicate properly for one reason or another ,,,,she did go into it more but have forgotten what she told me. They gave her a reading list one of which was about babies & language another one which was dear but covered all aspects & a film to watch which sounded really interesting. I was amazed to hear it was a four year course ....must be more to it than I thought .... dissecting a human head etc! will have to work hard over the next eighteen months at school. Your work is in the deaf unit that must be fascinating & so rewarding!!
It looks like very good tapestry! Some clever crafty lady has done this! Do you think there is a scramble to sit by the really beautiful one! Can you imagine it! ...lol!
Such a beautiful shot, Pat. I love the perspective and the wonderful contrast between the old, dark wood and the bright and colorful kneelers. Gorgeous streams of light captured as well.
So glad your computer is back in action!
@peggysirk Thanks Peggy, this is rather a wonderful church which I am very fond of as it's the RAF church in London & where Margaret Thatcher was transferred from a hearse onto the gun carriage at last weeks funeral.
