Tui & I had a lovely walk yesterday afternoon along the river bank.
Warm with a cloudless sky we sat on the edge of the bank in the long grass.
On the way back we walked towards the sun & I loved the way the sun sparkled on the water & the banks became tropical sands!!
Tui thought she was in the Caribbean!
When we farmed this river called the River Wyre used to be our boundary & all the land on the left hand side is where we had our cows, the heifers & in calf cows used to pasture on the bank...32 acres so they had lots of room. Henry used to follow them in his cow days all along this bank backwards & forwards.
Since retiring we sold all the land & farm buildings but the new owner lets us walk anywhere so we have all of the pleasures with out any of the work!!!!
Thank you so much for your continued comments, faves & just lovely companionship...I am so happy to be part of this project!
Three good things:
1. I have been baking for tomorrows annual BBQ in the village where we used to live which is ten miles away. Looking forward to a catch up!
2. I have started reading The Snow Child recommended by someone on here , can't remember who but thanks as I am enjoying it immensely
3. Collected my parcel from Royal Mail this morning...there was a long queue so they must have been dishing out the ''you were out'' cards willy nilly!! Had to stand out in the rain!!
.
What a super shot of the sparkly river & Tui enjoying her paddle Oh the Postel parcel delivery --makes me sick !!A few weeks ago saw the postman putting letters in my post box on the front I was in the garden to the side of the house & called good morning as he passed (not our usual postman I must add ) When I got in to collect my post --What do I find but a collection card !! as you can imagine I was spitting feathers --thsay the least ) As the parcel was for Gary & he collected it I did not complain !! but --next time ---!!
A gorgeous sunny scene. Don't get me started on those bloody cards. I don't believe they even carry the parcels any more or even attempt to deliver them. I have a long story and no water proofs for my camping trip but I won't bore you!
@beryl@fueast Normally as you know we have the sainted Tony but yesterday praps his day off...had to pick up next doors holiday money too as they had a card!!
Today though a couple of parcels came for Harry & the postman came in the house, put them on the table & went again...we were watching the rugby & never heard a thing!
Wonderful shot , love your title you have the stars today I had the suns yesterday 365project.org/khirsch/bits-and-pieces/2013-06-21 we only need somebody for the moon
How fantastic to have free rein over that land - Monty would be in heaven. @fueast I had to collect a 'too large' parcel today. I think it would have gone through the letterbox myself - still exciting stuff - hen worming powder!!
@barrowlane Well a sort of estuary Rob...clever you! If you look on the OK map & find Fleetwood that is were the River Wyre flows into the sea & if you go down river until it narrows that is were our land starts, or used to....the river is tidal & gets very wide twice a day when the tide comes in.
@judithg We have a Welsummer that Harry is nursing back to health, he puts it on the perch every night , takes it to the feed & water & has been rewarded by it standing up by itself today! He puts something called Tylon in their water too supposed to be good for their health. I know it would be cheaper just to go out & buy eggs but he loves them.
I wonder if I will get the same loving care if I go off my legs LOL!
Great shot and lovely to remember sunny days like these. Hope the weather is fine for the BBQ....at Inglewhite? We always remember the Green Man where we went for tea when we stayed with you.
Love your comments today too and I so agree with you about the companionship and encouragement of being part of this project!
Glad to say I slept for 8 hours at a stretch last night and felt so much better today!
@sarah19 I had had a good nights sleep the night before last & what a difference it makes!!!
The Green Man is closed & has been for the last 6 months. There has been a consortium of 3 villagers who put an offer of £750,000 in to buy so that Inglewhite could get it's meeting place & heart back but it was turned down...they are still trying for a tenant.
Silly because the pub business is in a bad way & as soon as the tenants start making a profit they put the rent up so they leave...better a bird in the hand...! Glad you feel better today Sallie.
I remember when ever I took photos of anything, the dog would be sure to be in them! If it was a river he would be in it, the sea, in it! We had someone ring us up about a parcel to ask if we would be in today when they delivered it! How's that for good service from NZ Post! It was my hula hoop.
@jewelsandbinoculars Ah of course Jan, I remember now..... I think 365 is as good as an on line book club!! Only on chapter 5 but really beautifully written book. Thanks JH.
this is beautiful Pat. I love shots that show sparkling water .......it does have a seaside feel to it ...well seen and a gr8 vantage point for composition

I read the Snow Child on @jantan's recommendation, and now I think @jannaellen is reading it too. It's like a veritable 365 book club!
