Lunch out today at Miller Howe Hotel in the Lake District.
We had booked it for 12.30 & when we arrived we discovered a wedding was taking place at 2pm.
I went in to take a quick picture & the setting was lovely for a small intimate wedding of about 16 guests.
We were slightly put out that because of the wedding we couldn't have our coffee outside on the patio overlooking the lake.
I did complain a little & said we should have been informed when we booked but they just shrugged it off....I think we will have a change next time!
Please excuse me if I don't get round to commenting on yours tonight...I slept really badly last night, been out in the sun all day & tonight I am shattered!
Three good things:
1. Delicious meal not cooked by myself!
2. Stunning scenery in the Lakes...we always say we should go more often!!!!
3. A birthday to remember!

Happy birthday Pat!! Very swish Miller Howe though I'm sure you wouldn't have caused any problems on the patio. I want to go to The Lakes now! October half term might be good when the leaves are on the turn. Have a relaxing evening recovering!

Your birthday day sounds wonderful and a lovely place to go! Being in the sun makes for a great and natural tiredness so go with it, Pat and my birthday greetings will go with you!

What a wedding to remember Pat - this is a gorgeous outlook. Pity they didn't let you know about the wedding booking - those little details are annoying - but you ended up on a positive note - and enjoyed your day regardless.
