I watched this chap standing in the corn field for about ten minutes & he never moved. I'm not sure if he was shooting although he didn't seem to have a gun...perhaps he was just looking at nature!
A bit lax with the commenting last night....sorry!
Three good things:
1. A gift of some home grown tomatoes.
2. M&S All butter sultana cookies.
3. Proper chips.
Love all your different answers, could be any of them but he had nothing in his hands as far as I could see, never moved from the same spot except to turn round & look at me....I think he had perhaps escaped from somewhere!!!
I did think he might be a beater as the shoot was on but never saw any sign of any one else & surely they wouldn't trample through a ripe corn field!
@jesperani I wasn't as near as I would have liked Jennifer...we saw him while driving past in the car & I ran back to take the picture......thanks so much for the fave!
@maggiemae It does look quite warm here in the sun but actually the weather has turned quite cold...fire on tonight !! I like that he lost his feet LOL !
Very neat picture!
That is a mature corn field? Our corn is way taller - at least 8 feet tall. They say our corn should be knee high by the 1st of July,
(Are you sure this is not wheat?)
@farmreporter To be honest Wendy I didn't look much at the crop so busy looking at the man! It cold well be wheat although a very pale colour & also we tend to grow our grain crops with shorter stalks now ....not so much need of the straw these days so a shorter variety used on many farms. I think you tend to call your maize crops corn where as we call wheat & barley corn. Our maize is not ready yet & on this farm is currently over 10 foot tall this year..this will be harvested about October time. So interesting learning about different farming ways.
@happypat Thank you for the explanation.
You are right - we call maize corn here in Canada and wheat, oats, and barley type crops cereals.
So interesting to see how similar we are to you, but how different as well!
Super incognito spy Knowles spots suspicious person in field.

This is worrying, Pat!
