A fascinating hobby of walking stick making gives an unusual display of the various carved handles.
Three good things:
1. Harry & I have cleaned the stair & a bedroom carpet today.
2. I have eaten only fruit all day to try & minimise the damage of the large meals out we are having this week.....salad & chicken tonight!
3. Warm towels.
A super display of a very rural craft . and brings back such fond memories of my father in his latter years --spending hours in stick making, - from gathering suitable wood - bundling then ,drying , shaping , carving wood or added horn handles ,--I have some of the ones he had not sold or given away !!
An exhibition of walking sticks plus prizes! Wonders will never cease! We have a walking stick used around the world that has a cavity screwed into the top knob for a wee dram of whisky! I do this sort of food restriction too and I'm sure it works! Love the No.3 too!
We got dragged into the house of a man who keeps the grounds of a local estate. He was such a lovely man and makes sticks like this. They are just incredible, he had hundreds
