Harvest Festival at church this morning & I so wished I had been able to take my camera in.
The children looked very sweet carrying in all the lovely baskets...so proud of their offerings.
I pray for a thankful heart for the whole world.
Three good things:
1. The house is warm all over. We have three B&B in for the next two nights & whereas Harry & I have been making do with the Aga & wood burner & no heat upstairs the house has to be cosy for the guests & I enjoy it too!
2. A roast dinner today so only boiled eggs to cook for tea!
3. Harry hoovered while I was out this morning.
--And such a beautiful bloom still standing -- very nice capture Pat . So nice to see the little children at Harvest thanksgiving Shame you couldn't take a few shots --but I suppose it could be awkward !!!
Love your good things this in-between season .it's difficult to know the extent of heating to put on --but it is easier with gas to put on & off at will ! We had roast dinner today so could be boiled eggs for tea !!
@beryl No eggs for tea Beryl...have just realised Harry has sold too many & the rest have to be saved for breakfast...having to route in the deep freeze now!
Ooh Pat - a flower shot! And a beauty. Harvest festival sounds lovely - I was just saying to my sister when I met her in London that for the first harvest assembly Rachel had in the infants I trawled the town for crepe paper and sellophane and a proper grocers basket to decorate and fill with fruit only to find that everybody else had taken in a tin. They did let Rachel lead the parade of offerings and it got centre stage but the following year I sent a tin as well I'm afraid! Mind you famously a few years ago somebody sent Ina bag of penis-shaped pasta - can you believe it?! Luckily one of the teachers intercepted it before it went on display!
Love the flower, and I don't think they would have minded if you had photographed the display. @judithg I also think it's shame that the harvest displays are not what they used to be. I took in pumpkins this year, but nobody wanted them afterwards.
@judithg Really Judith, I wouldn't know where such places exist, ha ha!! I will have to ask my fun friend she gets her bras from there, the oldest customer they have I would imagine!!!
@jewelsandbinoculars Well I happen to know that one of the staff made a donation and took it home for tea so it wasn't wasted! I wonder what the Italian name for it is - actually I don't think I want to know.
@jewelsandbinoculars@judithg I am laughing at the fact that my innocent rose & talks of Harvest Festival should descend to levels of the gutter...only on 365 could we get into such odd subjects so quickly!!

So where did they buy that then?!!!
I guess I'll feel happier sticking with spag to go with the bol!
