Choosing the tree. by happypat

Choosing the tree.

Round the garden centre today choosing the tree. We decided to buy a real rooted tree this time...smaller but hopefully more environmentally friendly.

I have just had to edit this photo...have just scrolled down all your lovely photos & there is no way I am going to be able to catch up tonight....please forgive me & I will try to do better!!! I seem to be gadding about a lot this week & if you don't comment a little in the morning the whole thing gets away on you!!!

Three good things:
1. Max made me laugh last night,. Asked what shape the first chocolate out of his Advent calender was he said ''a silage bale' it was Christmas cracker shape! Obviously a born farmer!
2. Lunch in the garden centre.
3. Christmas bingo tonight...should be a laugh!! I have only ever played twice before!!
love your story re Max. like the peak view of the man with green jacket. We have had bad luck with live trees. Good luck!

@jgpittenger Oh dear well here's hoping...guaranteed for a year so will watch it closely! Perhaps we will only take it inside for a fairly short time!! Thanks Jane.

I laughed out loud at number 1 Pat. Highest quality comedy!! I'm off to buy our tree tomorrow. Nice diary shot.

Ah, we did this last week. Always enjoy picking out the tree for the season.

Good luck with the tree - I went to the garden centre yesterday to buy something else and it was heaving with people buying trees - the woman on the cash desk looked quite nervous! Love the story about Max!

I need to get my plastic fantastic down from the loft!

Hahaa!! I keep threatening to get artificial (too expensive for a nice one) or a potted one (too small). May be I'll try again as Rebecca brings hers in every year and it doesn't drop needles everywhere - and it keeps growing!

Sorry - the Hahaa was about the sileage bale!!

@judithg Ours was just short of fifty quid & just comes to my neck level...4 foot perhaps. We have an artificial one in our sitting room as the heat of the wood burner just kill a real one off. The real one will be in the hall & we have a tree lit out side too...have to be festive for guests!

@happypat That's a good buy Pat - ours are that price but smaller.

Is this the one? It's lovely. I am the same, if I don't manage to catch up with where I left off the night before then I have had it by the evening. We can only do so much hey?

@lucypics I do so agree...you feel quite an accomplishment when you are keeping up!!

Nice shot (like the "man at work" in the background!)

Lovely to get a potted tree ...... I will have to do that when we get the garden sorted. Lovely shot and I love what Max said :)

nice green tones here Pat, we have gone artificial for the first time in many years...we bought a beautiful 'designer minimalistic' winter tree from the 'Next Sale' in January .... the prices for real trees really shot up over the last few years ...so we decided to go artificial ...don't worry / stress over commenting on 365...we all know how difficult it gets...just enjoy your "gadding about" (make sure you have your Olympus with you while you 'gad')

oh such a nice DOF! really well shot!

Love this shot! And a wonderful idea to get a live tree. We bought live trees for several years in Atlanta...until we realized our southern climate wasn't all that conducive to fir/spruce trees. I love Max's observation about the shape of his advent chocolate! A true little farmer. And I can so relate to 365 commenting time, especially this time of year!!

Super DoF. I feel the same way about commenting, Pat. There just aren't enough hours in the day to do everything!
