I meant to stir myself & go outside to take a proper outdoor photo on this dry & sunny day but have just not had time.
Done lots today to prepare for my holiday, cleaned the fridge, made biscuits, sorted the freezer out putting all easy meals stuff at the top & finally got my case packed.
I have had to change to the larger case & I'm a bit worried as it's right on 30kgs. Will have to have a final lift tomorrow & some stuff might have to come out.
It will only be half full on my way back hopefully.
Three good things:
1. Our first ever medal at the Winter Olympics.
2. Good old Lily is always good for a photo op when I'm stuck.
3. I am so enjoying the book that @judithg recommended, 'The Power of One' so different & I have already ordered the sequel.
@padlock Thanks padlock...interesting to hear the sequel is up to scratch...I am up to his latter days at boarding school at the moment so not long before I finish this one.
Oh my goodness...what a sweet, sweet shot of those little paws in the warm sunshine. Just precious!
Sounds like you are ready for your departure day, Pat. I know you are looking forward to your getaway and seeing your beautiful NZ family...and baby Finn for the first time!
Will have to investigate the book you are reading.
@peggysirk I am Peggy all set up now & ready for the off. We have a couple of days of a hospital appointment for Harry about his eye & IO am having my hair cut etc so glad to get all sorted. Brilliant book Peggy.
Naw this makes me miss my cat Fluffy Bum even more... really must get a little cat... sounds like you had best get a bigger carry on bag.. to spread the load..
That's so cute! Bet you're getting excited now but always a lot of work going away!! I don't think I recommended that one - I haven't read it but I'm prepared to take credit if it's good! I think Nigel's read it so we've got the book and I'll have to give it a go.
Lovely detail shot. Have a good trip. If I were you I would just wait until you get to the airport and if there is a problem just take something out and put it in your pocket. In my experience they're usually not bothered if you are only slightly over.
The "cats paw" has other meanings too which is interesting! This was a film too, made in 1992 so should be around as a DVD! I might look for it! 30kg is a good allowance!
@happypat glad you enjoyed it...I have bought something like ten copies of it over time as I've lent it to that many people and not got it back because they loved it so much! The sequel is not quite as good, but then it's a hard book to follow, still enjoyed it though! There is a film of it which is also not too bad. Your next read should be Shantram...it's a big one but totally captivating read
@sparkle Thanks so much Juliette & I am loving that book...just up to the part where they find that cave...I have bad feelings about that...I think it might end up a tomb!!!!! Going straight on to Kindle now to check out that book. I do read a lot on holiday so like to have good back ups. Yes missing the met up in London in March not because I am in NZ but a weekend dimmer dance in Accrington!!!
Hoping to go to my sisters this summer & meet up with Cambridge area ones but always love the London meet ups too. Six of us doing a NZ meet up which will be great fun! xx
Sounds like you have been busy!
Thanks for the lovely message :)
