I love my lampshade in the kitchen & how the light shines through it when the light is on & the kitchen lights are always on in if I'm in the house!
Looks best on black if you have the time & can be bothered!
I am going to decorate one of the bedrooms this week as I have no one booked into that room. I have been for curtain material & paint this morning ready for starting tomorrow.
Three good things:
1. Standfast Fabric shop in Lancaster where you can buy great fabrics from such as Sanderson for as little as £6 per metre! I got 3 metres of material, 3 metres of lining, curtain heading plus cotton for les than the price of one metre of Laura Ashley material!
2. Lypsil.
3. Last episode of Broadchurch tonight!
what a lovely lampshade! I wish I had the will to do some decorating but it's too cold at the moment but I expect you like to get yours done before the season really hots up!
@rosiekind Yes you're right Rosie I have to do it while it's quieter....not in the mood yet but will be when I startbtomorrow, did contemplate getting someone in but it's pretty easy doing it as its not a tall room. Going to try using a roller for the first time!
@busylady It's well known in the area...always quite a few people there even on a cold Monday morning. I am doing the room you & Peter slept in Judith........out with the yellow!
This would be my favourite lampshade if I had it! Its just gorgeous on black and the way it would be if all the other lights in the room were turned off! You do have a lot of energy to even plan to redecorate let alone go and buy stuff!
@maggiemae Yes you are right maggiemae....it's syking yourself up to get going that's the hard bit! Once I start I will ok......have gone for a paler look to make the room look bigger this time, all white & beige, sounds boring but hope it will look tasteful!

Love those owls Pat. Your colour scheme sounds great. I like decorating once i've got started. Not so keen on the preparation especially if I have to strip wallpaper!
I like be this because we have it three times over on the landing. Coming back from the hens this morning Rachel"s door was open (never when she's hom as she's allergic to the cat) and I could see all the lampshades on the landing and admire them! You just don't get discount fabric like that down here - my mum used to be an expert on the Preston ones!
