Day four & we had planned to catch the hop on hop off bus but we discovered the tour didn't start until 10am.
We decided to go instead for pancakes & maple syrup in a proper American diner. Delicious they were too!
We couldn't leave the USA without walking over Brooklyn Bridge even though by then the weather was drizzly & misty. Well worth our efforts it was too!
I have been very glad of Lydias red coat while in NY......nothing like a red coat!
Three good things:
1. Search engines.
2 A local picture framer.
3. A proper basted golden brown hot cooked chicken in a bag from Booths.
I agree Pat -- it was good to have a pop of red -- at least you couldn't get lost with Lydia in her red coat - Great capture Pat with the strong verticals and the symmetry of all those lines with your personal pop of red well placed to pull your gaze along the bridge ! FAV
@grannysue it was t very high Linda & a road underneath so you never got near the edge. The walk across was on all wooden slats but you couldn't see underneath to the water.
@julzmaioro I bought a photo in NY from a guy on the Highline walk. It's a rather gaudy shot of this guys bookcase but I just love it...it was cheap & reminds me of NYC. I might show it you when I get it back from the framers! She is three weeks work behind so it will be a while.
@bpaquette Cathy didn't care for it at all Barbara but I liked it. I had strawberries with my pancakes but Lydia & Cathy had bacon so perhaps that was why.. Lydia liked hers but she has a real sweet tooth. I prefer my pancakes as crepes though a bit thinner. We were hungry so it all went down very well!
I remember the American pancakes so well and often do them like that here instead of the thin crepes. Very tender but filling. I see you can bike across this bridge too. Your colours are great in all the photos!
Fave Fave Fave Pat. I've seen quite a few pics of this on various photo sites and I am always amazed at how beautiful and photogenic it is. I quite often see it in mono, but your colour version looks great especially with the splash of orange :)
@countrylassie I am back home now Kesley. We passed Ellis Island in the boat...beautiful buildings. Would have liked to have gone round but had to do as much as possible in our four days there.
Great shot of this iconic bridge. Not too busy! Too bad the weather wasn't a little better for you...it can be lovely this time of year. Love all those lines and that skyline!!
Great image and neat pop of colour. As @julzmaioro said, we have a great picture framer here - and she's also a member of the local camera club - and a fabulous person too!
This is such a classic NYC shot! Love it! And I've noticed how Lydia's fabulous red coat has popped in all of your photos too! Love that you had a pancake breakfast in a NY diner. ☺
I'll never get there so will have to rely on your photos for the experience, Pat!
