Mahonia

I have used my newish lens today to get a bit of DOF .....not much choice of a decent flower in my garden, loads of dafoddils & shrubs but not much else.

Fish & chips tea tonight with friends.

Three good things:
1. A lower than thought estimate on the damage to my car.....we might not go through the insurance now.
2. A tetanus injection just to be on the safe side!
3. The Masters Golf ....I love it!
Well Pat your new lens works! This is a great shot even if it is only Mahonia. Perfect focus and dof.

@susiemc @beryl Thank you ladies. I have had this lens for about four months now but not using it as much as I should....will try harder! Thank you.

Lovely focus. I love the scent of this flower, we had one but had to dig it up as it kept coming up through the lawn.

@rosiekind hi Rosie it's a 45mm1:1.8 prime lens. It does portraits which I am ashamed to,say I have never used it for yet & sort of good DOF stuff.

expertly shot and a super composition Pat

I think the very low aperture creates wonderful focus and background blur with bokeh! My lowest is 2.8 but I can't get as good clarity as this shot!

@happypat

I prefer my 50mm 1.8 prime lens above the others - you'll get some fab portraits!

Loving that bokeh!

Fabulous dof, Pat - and lovely bokeh!

Beautiful focus on this gorgeous spring growth! I should be changing up my lenses and experimenting more often than I do. I am such an accidental photographer.
The Masters has had most of my attention the last few days (and will today as well). Jordan Spieth is on fire. My perennial favorite, Phil, will have to play his absolute best today to change that leaderboard...

@peggysirk oh dear Peggy, I haven't got to watch any golf yet....been out too much so have had no time! I will watch today though.
