It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas........
Oh no I can here you saying! At least this bit of the garden centre was closed off but in the next part cards, gift wrap etc etc were in full swing!
I despair really but if you are in business you have to be ahead!
I didn't go to buy Christmas stuff but this fabulous garden centre has a wonderful farm shop where I get my bacon, hash browns, black pudding & lots of other stuff.
So sorry I was lax with the commenting last night but I sat down & just couldn't be bothered to go on my iPad most of the night but will do better tonight!
Full up again tonight but all ready & prepared.
Three good things:
1. Pre paid return labels.
2. Warm enough to sit out again.
3. Vanish stain remover which has worked beautifully on a towel covered in make up....I almost threw it out & it's all clean although Harry has bagged it for an oil rag!
Its a lovely capture of the promise to come but yes oooh so early. Our garden centre is the same. There was a piano in the display and someone was playing a carol!
Barton Grange? A great place to while away the hours .... I suppose this time in three months it will be Boxing Day .. what a thought. I was watching a programme the other day that put three stain removers on test against good old fashioned white spirit. The white spirit won and the best remover of red wine is hairspray.
@motherjane vanish has yet to meet a stain kids create that it can't match! I'd say most of our sofa and carpet has had the vanish treatment by now! I've started my shopping pat! Need to have done by end of Nov. Can't bear having to do in the mad rush!
I do love Christmas BUT September is far to early for me -- all the glitter seems to tarnish before Dec 25th !! Although I must admit I did buy Chocs as Presents as they were on offer when my friend took me shopping on thurs -which I have hidden in the office !! I shall not touch them as I am diabetic !!
@newbank you do right Ruth specially when you have kids to consider. I don't have much to buy these days, family in NZ & the rest grown up. They seem to like money these days & a surprise. Suits me but I do miss the old days ...make the most of every moment! I still love that time of the year & we do tend to go out a fair bit now too which is very nice!
@beryl Well you have to grab the offers while you can Beryl.....best to do it slowly & methodically so no rush at the end! It's the card writing that gets me down but I love to receive cards so needs must!
Glad you refrained from an early start, Pat. I love Christmas...from about December 20-January 6. I feel totally abused and beat up by the holidays/advertising by the time Christmas arrives.
Lovely image, but a scary thought that all those decorations are hung there already! Our adult kids like money, although Santa has always bought them a book and often still does!
As you say- they have to be ahead and get in first! Tons of time before Christmas! Perhaps you should have tissues out in the bathroom - most thoughtless to remove make-up on a towel!
@maggiemae You should have seen it maggiemae...it was covered with foundation, I am amazed that Vanish moved it all. These girls that wear all that stuff on their faces don't realise they look much better without! She had just finished her exams & was going to do some sort of diploma in guess what....Media make up!! So glad Lydia is a fresh faced girl!
great shot Pat but I agree far too early. I am thinking of passing a lot of my decorations on to the op sohop this year as with family interstate and overseas they dont come out of their boxes like they used too.
Oh no. Not even the end of September yet. I must admit I have collected a couple of presents ready for Christmas, but I really don't want to see decorations yet.
What a thought Pat. I'm was at the Tree Counties Autumn show yesterday and I'm there again today. Great show so much to see. Went to a garden centre on Friday where like yours they had a fenced off area preparing for Christmas.
@cruiser I'm the same really Chris. I only seem to have the tree decorated & cards up plus a few ods & sods of things that light up in windows these days. Mind you I think people are far more tasteful these days, no paper chains that I remember making !
That is exactly what I thought! Will be staying away from our garden centre. Quite fancy making an autumn wreath for the shed though when I get the patient back!
