I haven't taken any photos today. The weather is colder, windier & much more autumnal here in Burnham.
William took me to a shopping mall to replace my iPad & iPhone charger the original of which I left in Picton!! Another lost item! They have it there for me to pick up on the way home but it's cost me €49 to replace! Can't manage without my iPad!
We were counting our blessings on the ferry as we met an English couple parked in the next lane to us while waiting for the ferry in Wellington. They had a daughter living in Wellington & were on their last visit to NZ.
He was quite a tall strong chap but was using a zimmer to help him balance. His wife said they were going to Lake Teekapo to look at the stars.
Turned out he had been recently diagnosed with motor neurone disease.
Lovely shot.. have such lovely skies in the South Island.. Oh dear have to tie things to you... Oh that poor couple.. lets hope they enjoy their time here.. Be sure to go to Fleurs if you go to Moeraki...
What a beautiful scene! Your meeting with that couple really makes you appreciate all your blessings! Make the most of every day should be our motorway! Oamaru? Isn't that where Maggiemae lives? Are you meeting up? How lovely if you are! Fav!
Lovely scenery, but it's so dry. You must be pleased you missed the bad weather on the ferry crossing. We drove up the West Coast in that bad weather, no drought over there.
Beautiful scenery Pat I'm so enjoying your holiday:-) I left a phone charger in Canada the night before we flew home so didn't miss it until I got back. Anthony said 'no' when i suggested going back to get it!!!
@deliad Been so,windy here today, cold too......hope the ferry isn't rough going back next week! Much drier down here than the Waikato, everything looks so bare.
@thistle Ha ha so easy to do when you leave it plugged in. Canada is rather a long wY for a forgotten charger! I actuall have the electric blanket on here tonight!
Beautiful scenery. We were out for lunch today and on our way back to the car we saw a friend of ours . He has a motorised wheelchair and was out for a 'stroll' from the local nursing home. He has motor neurone disease, but he is still so bright and cheerful despite his illness. So sad to see such a strapping man in this state.
Fantastic composition this Pat - makes you feel you're moving through the shot. How sad for that couple and their daughter must be emotional about it too.
I love climbing up over these hills and seeing a new and wide view in front of me - I am in the car, of course, and not driving! Good to see no cars on the road - there can be heaps!
Great to catch up. I'm sure they would have enjoyed meeting another English couple too and sometimes sharing stories is a positive way to disperse the fears and make the most of special times.
I love the composition and the colours. Such a sad story about the English couple you met. We must all of us make the most of every day and spend as much time as possible with family and friends.
