Clevelys today to try & buy grapefruit in light syrup.
Unbelievably bad to get hold of, Morrisons had only in juice which is undoubtably better for you but no one eats it, too sour. Booths usually have some but none there either, in the end I bought a tin of red grapefruit with syrup to put me on.
Sad news today as one of our grandsons best friends was killed early this morning on the new Morecambe bypass. A good friend with whom he recently met in Barcelona & more recently Japan. I feel so for his family & Jack must be devastated. Been all through school together & a name I have heard many times but never met.
Life is so precious.
Three good things:
1. After Eights at Tesco, buy one get one free!
2. A walk along the prom at Clevelys in the sun.
3. I remembered to bleed the radiators before the heating came on.
Good griffiths Santa out and about already.. grapefruit going to waste over here.. so sad re Jack's friend .. you are so right .. life is very precious..
How sas Pat -- such a shock and heartache for all that knew him ! so Santa Claus came to town --looks a dry cold and sunny day .- It wis the switching on of the lights and a Victorian market in Wellington today So cold so I only popped there and back home as it was so cold and also crowded !!
So what do people buy in Tesco's? Looks Like Santa Claus is targeting those coming out! I love that grapefruit in syrup but John can't eat grapefruit with heart medicine that he has to have so don't buy it! Sad for Jack!
@maggiemae He was a very happy Santa but we were only in for ten minutes & he'd moved on when we came out. No grapefruit for heart tablet patients of blood pressure ones too I believe!
Just catching up with you! So sad for Jack and all about his friend. David had a similar experience and it is not an easy thing to come to terms with.
Great farewell to paperwork bonfire yesterday!
@quietpurplehaze@julzmaioro@beryl@dide@gijsje@maggiemae@susiemc Thanks re Jacks friend Jamie, knocked down by a lorry I have heard, it would be heading either to or away from the ferry at Heysham I imaging. There is a path along that new road so just wondering whether it skidde on ice, it was early this morning & we had lots of frost.
@susiemc do you find your guests leave grapefruit in juice Sue? We have no Lidl near us & Aldi don't do it. Morrisons are cheapest at 58p per tin. I can usually get it from Booths but theirs is £1.15 a tin so try cheaper when I can.
@sarah19 Jack is very sad, they were a brilliant group of young people from school, the first time many of them will have come anywhere near a person the love dying.
I do love to see Santas around this time of year, even though we know they're not the 'real' one yet!
So sorry to hear about Jack's friend and know that the parents must be breaking their hearts. It's not something they will ever get over, but hopefully will learn to live with the pain. Jack is young to have to cope with such a loss, especially someone so close to him and young.
so sad to hear about Jacks friend and how devastating for the family.
I love grapefrut but usually have it fresh. As for after 8s I ont buy them because I would eat the lot.

Always a terrible shock when a young person dies suddenly.
Such a waste of life Hazel, knocked down by a car I believe.
So terrible and how powerless must his friends and family feel.
Lidl do grapefruit in light syrup and so do Tesco.
Great farewell to paperwork bonfire yesterday!
Ray takes statins so no grapefruit for him which is why eat it out of tins now.
