Out for lunch with my friend Ruth who also happens to be my daughters mother in law.
I thought I was being very clever by booking on line last night but when we got there they knew nothing about any booking. " but " I said " I have a booking number! ". Not from here they said!
Well there was much hilarity when we discovered I had booked a table for two at 12.30 at The Orchard Restaurant in London!
Three good things:
1. Always a treat to have lunch out, one of the pleasures of retirement!
2. Rhubarb gin.
3. Having a neighbour for evening meal tonight, it's good to catch up.
@maggiemae we have have friends for over forty years, kids went to the same school & lived in the same village half a mile away. We were delighted when our two got together so we now share Jack & Lydia as grandchildren.
@Dawn@jesperani@newbank Oh dear yes!! Should have been somewhere near Heathrow airport apparently! I haven't had a rude email yet! We did try & ring to let them know but they didn't answer!
Ooh Pat how hilarious !! I hope a bill will not follow !! In spite of this you and Ruth must have had a lovely lunch __ oh gosh I am still laughing !!!!
Love whitebait ! and one year my friend and I (co-teachers ) went to celebrate Beaujoulais Nouveau day by nipping to a little pub at lunchtime for whitebait lunch and a glass of the new Beaujolais wine before returning to school for our afternoon session ! Those were the days !!!!
