Birds of a feather.... by happypat

Birds of a feather....

Took a wreath to mums grave & saw these two lady pheasants strolling around among the graves, they were very tame!
Fields behind me so they were off back home I think.

Three good things:
1. Met up with other Granny & picked up Christmas presents from NZ. She was tanned & full of her holiday & all the fun they had had with the boys, I felt quite jealous!
2. New batteries for the little lights on a couple of extra trees I have....all twinkling away!
3. I wanted toasted tea cake but the cafe at the garden centre only had toast so I had a couple of slices with hot chocolate. Jam was another 60p, I was shocked...no jam on my toast!
Sign of the times - 60p for jam. Perhaps take your own next time! Such tidy and orderly gravestones.

What a lovely sight to see.. I always like to hear and sometimes see this in the trees when I go to the cemetery... the family i Taupo are very lucky to have their Grannies visit at different times if the year..

@julzmaioro yes it's no good all going at the same time, Trish can go anytime really but we have to consider milking & calving patterns! No good going when eldest son very busy from July to Christmas,

@beryl it was lovely Beryl, lots of photos of new house going up that I haven't seen yet, she had also been on a cruise all the way round NZ stopping off at different places, that was interesting to hear about.

@susiemc I was really surprised to see them Sue, of that I haven't seen plenty of pheasants before it was such an unusual place!

There is a big distance between the stones - here they are cheek to jowl! I visited my sister's grave a day ago and there were lots of flowers there - most unexpected but nice!
Hope you had butter on your toast but 60p for jam - not on!

@maggiemae Yes lots of butter! Lots of space but this is the newer bit & I think some people have pre bought their plots so still some spaces left here. The three on the second row are about the average distance apart.

Peaceful place for them I'm sure. Nice to have other Grandparents close by but I know how you feel.....our little guys are off to USA for Christmas holidays on Friday and I rather wish they were coming here.. But summer visits are more fun when days are longer and more to do and see. Oh well......
