What a lovely photo. I had such fun with my Mum's button tin too and my granny's though no idea what happened to it. I have my Mum's here and it's going on a down under journey in 25 days....to a vintage loving daughter 😁
@quietpurplehaze Just googled & a fear of buttons is called Koumpounophobia & Steve Jobs had it together with many other people. You do t say you have a fear but it's also an adversion! I never ever heard that word before!
Oh dear. Well we all have that button fetish, don’t we?! Just today I found a gallon zip lok bag full of buttons, tucked in the back of my travel paraphernalia drawer. 😵
Oh and @quietpurplehaze, you are in storied company with your button aversion, Steve Jobs, oh my.
I also loved my mum / grandma's button box . I think buttons are very "in" at the moment -not only on garments but also used by crafters as embellishments on their work . Btw Damson Gin sounds wonderful !!

Our family had a button tin, I loved it and now the grandkids love it, to be able to thread all those buttons on a string, so button tin still alive and loved.
Love buttons and I still cut them off clothes before throwing them out!! Don't know why really a habit from my mum and nan I think. I have loads of different button boxes. This is a great selection of buttons. Fabulous capture
This well surpasses my button photo of the other day! How very odd that there is a name for button haters - they must have had a nightmare about buttons as a youngster!
Always fun to find the treasures of the button box ... My Aunty had the best collection ever .. but she did use to own a haberdashery shop .. That Damson Gin sounds much more exciting that the damson jam I use to make ..
@beryl. There is a very strange large gap after your comment Beryl! I think the art of making pictures with scarabs of material & things like buttons is a lovely thing to do.
I have a button box but rarely use the buttons in it. I think it must be a hangover from my Nanna's era, she always had a button box. Zoe used to love playing with the buttons when she was small.
Oh look at that! So much fun. I would be scared of dropping one of those boxes en route to set up the stall.......can you imagine having to re-sort it again!
Ooh yes, I love buttons too! I have a very small button tin of my own but it's been useful more than once. Pretty buttons can make all the difference. Is the lady on the left doing lace?

Funny how we love buttons, perhaps buttons are indeed making more of a comeback just like pockets!
I have seen some wearers with buttons on the shoulder part.
Are you going with the button box Sallie?
I have a total and absolute phobia about buttons. I hate them, but cannot tell you why. (They are OK on clothes!)
Oh and @quietpurplehaze, you are in storied company with your button aversion, Steve Jobs, oh my.
Never heard of Koumpounophobia...
