Shopping g day & it’s Harry’s favourite pastime!
When I think back to our farming days when he hardly went anywhere & if he did it was there & back as quickly as possible!
These days he likes nothing better than wandering down the aisles of any supermarket.
We’ve been in Sainsbury’s, Aldi & his favourite Booths today.
Three good things:
1. Sainsbury’s were selling net produce bags for 30p each. I didn’t buy an6 as I already have the ones I bought from NZ which I use all the time.
2. A new battery in my watch. I like to use a proper watch when flying as mobile phones adjust themselves to the local time so I am completely confused what time it is where I’ve come from & where I’m going!
3. A big mug of hot chocolate!
4. Please let there be the a deal in this never ending Brexit!
Enough is enough!
So nice to have a hubby to share the shopping etc Pat . As we both were out to work , R always came and did our weekly shopping with me on a Friday night and we would have a meal out ! . So good to share these things .
I love it..... I have a happy shopper husband too. He worked at 'Safeway ' when he left school and is a brilliant packer!!!!
I know what you mean about real watch for flying. I like to connect to home time regularly when away!!!
I do think shopping is quite an interesting experience these days. So many different & varied things to buy. Each shop different with favourite buys in each branch. I’m amazed at the convenient ready to shove in the oven dishes there are in Aldi! Course I think everyone likes the Simply Food in Marks & Spencer’s, I think that my favourite & a treat too. We have a Simply Food branch at a nearby garage! It’s good to share the load at the moment as I can’t lift so I picked & Harry carried!
That's a nice way to shop - you pick and Harry carries! I, too am amazed at all the ready to serve dinners! No excuse to not eat well. A bit more expensive but you don't have to have all the ingredients at hand and wash all the pots!
@photographycrazy I think back to the days of standing by the counter _ telling the shop keeper what you want while he went to get it....a life time away!
@maggiemae Most in metal containers you just remove the cover & put in oven! It’s so easy to do but I shan’t go down that route very often! Handy sometimes though! I did buy something called Hunters chicken today. Chicken breast wrapped in bacon & covered in cheese...just add bbq sauce near the end & there you are! Great if you’re in a hurry!
David never used to be interested in shopping either, but since he retired he often comes with me to do the grocery shopping. He buys all the things I don't see like sausage, biscuits, cheese and chocolate, ha ha. It costs me twice as much when he comes with me.
..nice selection of fresh fruit
