My brother & sister in law live in Grange.
They took their West Highland dog Skye for a walk the other night & sent me this photo so I have pinched it to post today.
The train arriving in Grange crosses the Morecambe Bay Estuary from Arnside.
It cuts quite a traveling district by road...there has been talk of a bridge from Heysham to Barrow in Furness at one time but it’s never materialised.
My mum used to live at Arnside & when our eldest son was quite young...perhaps 5 or so he stayed at his grandmas & she took him on the train across the estuary. He still remembers it!
Three good things:
1. Harry has pumped my bicycle tyres up & washed both bikes. Will be great for shopping & getting about when we move & there are flatter roads!
2. Stain remover that works....I ate a crumpet near bedtime last night & the butter dripped on my newish trousers.
3. We spoke to our builder this morning & got on his list.
Exciting times pat - something to be planning and looking forward to ! What a pretty and neat little station - so Victorian . So full of character , not like the big uninteresting stations of the cities .
Lovely English Station and good it is being used! Grange sounds an interesting town - the only word I associate this with is some houses were called, "The Grange'! I note while investigating on Google that its 11pm and the temps are 12deg in Grange
@sangwann Well I doubt anyone is actually traveling in it at the moment...it pretty much is just a convenience for the local people & tourists as far as I know. It was evening when they took it too.
Good to be planning for the move. Do you have any dates yet?
