The walls have got to the very top....next thing is the roof trusses!
We are getting there & of course this fabulous weather helps!
We asked Phil why he had his shirt on today....he got burnt yesterday!
Three good things:
1. I forgot my bag today when I went shopping. So used to going out without it but it was ok as I had my phone with me so used Apple-pay.
2. I’m looking forward to the cinemas opening up....we are dying to see Nomadland with Francis McDormand.
3. St George’s Day.
@cdonohoue Thank you Cathy. I thought I would put a latest building shot up here for anyone who isn’t following my building Instagram page.
I hope you are settling into your new home...it’s quite tough moving isn’t it?
Looks great! I need to set up Apple Pay because there’s talk of them raising the card contactless limit to £100 - I’d rather leave my card at home then!
@judithg Well that’s a thought Judith....it’s too much I think....the Apple Pay would solve that problem. I use it regularly now & it’s funny what odd looks I get...sort of wry smiles as if they are thinking wow this old biddy is using modern tech stuff!
Glad your weather is cooperating!
I had to google why the U.S. uses mostly wood framing when building homes and found it’s cheaper than block walls. One article mentions that wood framed houses last around 50 years and are then plowed and rebuilt but the homes in the UK are built to last 100 + years with cement blocks.
@loweygrace Interesting Lois, we do have timber framed buildings here too. You can buy the sort of kit & of course they go up much quicker than a brick/block/ stone construction. The rest of our house is brick buy extension is block. I think there might be more difficult with mortgage applications with timber framed. I do love the Swedish style timber ones but might have been more difficult with planning.
@casablanca Well we were hoping we might be able to camp out by middle of June but the builder says a five to six week delay for the windows! I was a bit disappointed when he said that but we shall see.

Hope your cinema opens again soon. I am loving being able to go to the cinema again.

Onward and upward in every sense!
