Our daughter came today in between patients & said the sofas need to be round the other way! I think she might be right. Our son in law moved the wood burner nearer to where it’s going to actually sit in the corner. As a consequence we were able to move the dresser along & the room looks more balanced.
The sofas are now facing the garden.
Sorry we are a bit full on with stuff here so you’re getting rather a lot of house pictures.
I spent the day painting all the bare wood door architraves….top coat tomorrow. A bit fed up with the job but our painter is ill so it’s down to me.
Glad things are beginning to get straight at last.
I just need a nice large cosy rug to sink our toes in!
Ooh yes , that looks better -- I would hate to have my back towards the garden . with the birds flittering around and the occasional squirrel (if they come scampering into your garden ! ) Looks cosy with the light on your lovely dresser ! Well done "daughter "!! fav
Oh I am loving your house shots! I think looking out into the garden will be perfect all year round! Put your bird feeders near the house and you will have a wonderful display all winter!
@maggiemae Too many single chairs maggie, we don’t know what to do with them. You can see a leather one her in the photo & we can bring others in if we have lots of company but a couple will have to go ….no idea where but to be decided!
@pamknowler I think we will Pam….they are in the tree halfway down the garden at the moment….we need to get one of those ones you push in the ground with hooks on.
@judithg Aren’t they lovely….very trendy I’ve been told. My aunt made them years ago….she would be in her early nineties now so they must be well made…very thick too.
I’ve skimmed back through your photos as I noticed ( next Friday) your sofa has moved. Yes, this looks good as you are taking in the outside view as well.

Our sofa in the family room faces the garden and I have a wonderful view of the patio, the bird bath and the garden feeders. Keeps me entertained.
