Great work! Scouting is such a fantastic activity for young people and they are open to girls now too.
David particularly like Scouts and learned all sorts of skills indoors and out! And then there was the time when he went to an International Week in Cumbria which was also attended by Irish Girl Guides.......one of whom 'did' his hair and he came home blond!!!
It will be lovely to see all the green on the willow tunnel as the months pass!
@sarah19 I feel bad now that I have made this b/w...the green was just coming through but liked the lines here in b/w. Scouting for girls...a bit more active than the girl guides do you think?
@happypat The black and white really shows the structure Pat! It's so exciting to find green bursting out all around! And yes I thing the girl Scouts have a different experience to the Girl Guides! Good to have choice I think!
They do so much with willow nowadays. Easy to weave and can withstand the outside challenges! Our public growing gardens has willow fences and they grow the peas up them!
What an amazing job they have done. I think it looks excellent in b&w.
Both our girls were in the Brownies and the Girl Guides and loved it. Zoe went on an outing with the Brownies when we lived in Cyprus and it was to go out to an operational Navy ship just off Cyprus (It was a Forces group). The only problem was a storm brewed and they couldn't get them off the ship. They tried to bed them all down for the night, but the ship got a call to go off to Beirut so the 20 or so girls had to be air lifted off the ship by helicopter onto a landing craft about 11 o'clock at night. Quite an exciting time for them all. Brownies and Guides wasn't as exciting after that.
@onewing the best bit would be the rescue...she will never forget that Babs! Lydia is on her practice 3 night camp for DOE. ....having fantastic weather for it too!
