The Emperor by helenhall

The Emperor

I am pleased as punch with this having waited patiently to achieve the appealing background.
My fitbit is not so happy though, no 10,000 steps on my walk today! I also had a pleasing bee shot - a different variety to the other day. My Field Guide to the Butterflies and other Insects of Britain book is getting much use. 365 is so educational.

Stunning Helen. I love that I can see it's little face and the background is fantastic too. Don't worry about the 10,000 steps - this more than makes up for not reaching the target and there's always tomorrow! Fav.

My fitbit has been a bit redundant since I don't have a dog anymore. May have to 'help' a new one. This is an absolute stunning shot. Dragonflies are so difficult to pin down. Love the background bokeh. Perfect shot and HUGE fav!

Lovely detail& all in focus. Why did you want the poached eggs in the background; they draw the eye away from the beautiful Emperor?

Beautiful close up!

@paulmann Ha! you made me think. I just like the daisies, but not so much if they look like poached eggs. Grateful for your observation, I revisited an earlier photo with just the grassy background, and I think you may have a point!

What an amazing shot! Well worth the wait... Love the verdigris colour of the dragonfly and yes... Great background colours too! The fitbit can wait for today's 20,000 steps to make up for yesterday! 😉

Wow! amazing capture and what patience you have! 10,000 steps a day is good in principle but not at the expense of an excellent image! Fav & follow!
